The Hotel Clybaun is located in Knocknacarra, and is equidistant from both Salthill seaside resort and Galway City. It offers easy access to the city and also the scenic beauty of Connemara , making it the ideal touring base. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from Salthill and a 10 - 20 minute drive from the city (subject to traffic conditions). Please note there are road works before the Deane roundabout which may cause some traffic delays, but you can still access the route as normal. This access route is diverted when leaving hotel area, but is clearly sign posted.

DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON DRIVING FROM ANY OF THE FOLLOWING AIRPORTS:

FROM GALWAY AIRPORT

Leaving Galway Airport, turn left out of Galway Airport and keep following signs for Galway City by the N59. There are a number of roundabouts to be considered.

Approach the Lynch roundabout, take the 3rd exit in the direction of the city, continue to the Morris roundabout, take the 2nd exit, proceed to the Font roundabout, take the 2nd exit off and continue to the Kirwan Roundabout again taking the 2nd exit off. You are now approaching the Bodkin signal controlled roundabout where you will take the 4th exit. Proceed straight ahead for 3km until the Deane roundabout where you take the 3rd exit. Continue straight ahead through two more roundabouts and the Hotel Clybaun is located at the third roundabout.

FROM SHANNON AIRPORT

Exit the Airport and follow signs for Galway. En route you will pass the following towns and villages - Clarecastle, Ennis, Barefield, Crusheen, Gort, Ardraghan, Kilcolgan, Clarenbridge, and then coming to Oranmore, you approach the Oranbeg roundabout take the 2nd exit (N6) for Galway City.

At next roundabout (Carrowmoneagh) take 2nd exit on the N6. Follow straight to the Martin roundabout and take the 2nd exit (follow signs for Galway City West or N59 route). At Lynch roundabout take 2nd exit and continue to the Morris roundabout where you take the 2nd exit. Straight on to the Font roundabout and take the 2nd exit at this and follow straight to the Kirwan roundabout again taking the 2nd exit off. You are now approaching the Bodkin signal controlled roundabout where you will take the 4th exit. Proceed straight ahead for 3km until the Deane roundabout where you take the 3rd exit.

FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT

Exit the airport and take direction for M50/West. There is a barrier-free tolling system on the M50 from the airport. Visit the e-flow website to avoid facing a fine. Keep left and take first exit for West of Ireland - N6. There are traffic lights located at the top of this exit, keep the centre lane as you will be taking the 3rd exit, N6-West of Ireland. Drive towards Athlone, Ballinasloe, Loughrea, Oranmore, you approach the Oranbeg roundabout take the 3rd exit for Galway City (N6). You are now on a dual carraigeway, at the next roundabout called Carrowmoneagh, take the 2nd exit (N6). Continue on to the Martin roundabout take the 2nd exit (from here follow the N59 route). At the Lynch roundabout , take the 2nd exit, proceed to the Morris roundabout where you take 2nd exit, follow straight to the Font roundabout where you also take the 2nd exit. Next is the Kirwan roundabout and again taking the 2nd exit off. You are now approaching the Bodkin signal controlled roundabout where you will take the 4th exit.
